Vestas has named Anna Mascolo as President of Vestas Northern & Central Europe and Global Offshore.
Mascolo joins Vestas from Shell, where she most recently served as Executive Vice President of Low Carbon Solutions, leading Shell’s global business focused on delivering decarbonisationsolutions for customers. She brings more than 25 years of international leadership experience in energy, spanning research, trading, aviation, chemicals, M&A and low-carbon technologies.
As President of Northern & Central Europe and Global Offshore, Mascolo will be responsible for leading Vestas’ sales, construction, service, and development activities of onshore wind across the region as well as Global Offshore, supporting customers in their efforts to deliver affordable, secure, and sustainable energy.

“Vestas is a global leader in renewable energy and has played a pivotal role in shaping the energy transition around the world. I am excited to join the company at such an important time for the industry. Northern & Central Europe is a region with tremendous opportunities as countries continue to pursue ambitious climate and energy goals. I look forward to joining my peers in Henrik’s team with the other Regional Presidents and working with Vestas’ talented team, our customers, and our partners to accelerate the deployment of renewable energy solutions and create long-term value for all stakeholders,” Mascolo said.
“I am delighted to welcome Anna to Vestas. Anna brings a unique combination of commercial acumen, international leadership experience, and deep expertise within the energy sector. As Europe continues to invest in secure, affordable and sustainable energy, Anna’s proven ability to deliver growth, lead large organizations, and build strong customer relationships will be invaluable for Vestas and our customers. At the same time, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to Nils de Baar for his extraordinary contribution to Vestas. For more than a decade, Nils has been instrumental in shaping Vestas’ success in Europe,” said Henrik Andersen, Vestas President and CEO.
Mascolo succeeds de Baar, who after more than ten years as Regional President has decided to retire from operational roles, following a tenure marked by strong growth, market expansion, and deep customer partnerships. De Baar will leave Vestas by end of September following a handover with partners and colleagues at Vestas.
“It has been a privilege to lead Northern & Central Europe and work alongside great colleagues, customers, and partners. Together, we have built a strong business and contributed significantly to the deployment of renewable energy across the region. I am immensely proud of what we have achieved and confident that the region is well-positioned for continued success. Anna is an outstanding leader with extensive experience across the energy value chain, and I am certain she will take the business to even greater heights,” said de Baar.
Prior to her current role, she held several senior leadership positions at Shell, including President of Global Aviation, Vice Chair of the Raizen Board and serves on the board of Rolls-Royce SMR.
