Towers and Fabrications
Broadwind Energy specializes in the production of wind turbine towers and fabrications for oil and gas, mining and other industrial applications. With production facilities located in Manitowoc, WI and Abilene, TX, Broadwind is situated in close proximity to the primary U.S. domestic energy and equipment manufacturing locations. Highly regarded by customers for flexibility and adaptability, Broadwind specializes in the fabrication of heavier next generation wind towers that are larger, more technically advanced and designed for multi-megawatt (“MW”) and larger wind turbines.

Precision Gearing and Gearboxes
Broadwind’s Brad Foote Gear Works, Inc. subsidiary engineers, builds and repairs precision gears and gearboxes for wind, oil and gas, mining and other industrial applications. With a heritage of gearing experience and ingenuity dating to 1924, and unique expertise in tight-tolerance gearing, Brad Foote is focused on the manufacture of custom engineered gearing systems and gearboxes. From its plants in Cicero, IL and Pittsburgh, PA, Brad Foote offers its global customers unmatched high-quality gearing solutions—every day.

In Field Services
Broadwind helps owners and operators maximize their wind turbine investments and lower the cost of energy with a robust set of unplanned drivetrain and blade maintenance services for both kilowatt (KW) and MW wind turbines. Having produced more than 2,700 gear sets for wind customers—coupled with almost 90 years of precision gearing expertise—Broadwind offers the U.S. wind industry comprehensive repair and testing of gearboxes in its state-of-the-art drivetrain service centers in Abilene, TX and Howard, SD. With experience installing, repairing or improving nearly 10,000 wind turbine blades across the U.S., Broadwind has extensive blade repair, quality control, field service, and research and development expertise.
